Mark 3:24-27, “If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand. And if Satan opposes himself and is divided, he cannot stand; his end has come. In fact, no one can enter a strong man’s house without first tying him up. Then he can plunder the strong man’s house.” (NIV) We are living in a time when there is more unity in Satan’s house than in God’s house. And the world is suffering for it. My favorite thing in the morning is the dreamy moments between sleep and wakefulness. It is the perfect opportunity to hear His voice. Each evening, as I close my eyes and drift into a sea of unconscious oblivion, I allow His loveliness to peak my final contemplations. At first light and with flawless care His whispers are always there, resting, like sparkling gems crowning the surface of the waves in my brain. It is these moments that determine the rest of my day. I hold on to them as long as I can before the sun burns its way into my consciousness and I am forced to awaken. This was one of those mornings. I was thinking on the most beautiful expression of unity in scripture. Oh, how we need that unity today. I was contemplating perfect Love as it is expressed through the name, Elohim. “In the beginning, Elohim…” Genesis 1:1. According to Strong’s Concordance, the original, Hebrew word is אֱלֹהִים meaning God, Divine Being, Plural in number; Plural intensive… Three, but One is the opening act of scripture. The perfect unity of perfect Love expressed through our Creator. I once heard a teacher articulate that verse like this: The Father was the Thought; the Mind where the Idea of Creation began. Jesus was the Word, the Sound of the Father’s Thought; the Expression of His Contemplations. The Holy Spirit was the Action, the Verb, the energy and the force that flowed into the Thought… And it was so. This is how my mind imagines it: As the Holy Spirit hovered over the face of the deep, He vibrated, brooded, and stirred the waters with the energy of Elohim. Jesus, The Word, spoke into that power and the atmosphere became electric with the descriptive definition of Elohim’s dreams. As the Holy Spirit wrapped His energy around the Visions and Imaginings of God, Life burst forth. By the power of agreement, we live. Not just believers. All of us. Everyone, from Adam to the baby squirming in his mother’s arms were made in His image. We are like our Daddy. We think. We speak. We move. Of course, it is so much better to know Him. Only then can we explore the limitless possibilities of what it means to be His children; offspring of Elohim. “Jesus replied, ‘The Kingdom of God can’t be detected by visible signs. You won’t be able to say, ‘Here it is!’ or ‘It’s over there!’ For the Kingdom of God is already among you,” Luke 17:20-21. (NLT) We are King’s kids living in the King’s Kingdom, but not everyone knows who they are. Wherever we are, saved or lost, the kingdom is present because we are there. Where two or three come together in unity, the kingdom is manifested. How much better it is to walk in the kingdom as a born again son or daughter because the King is with us and in us. Once we reject our old master through the power of New Birth, we can learn who we really are, where we come from, and how our kingdom functions. Whether we realize it or not, we are never un-powerful again. We are native residents of Elohim’s kingdom. Everything we think, everything we say and everything we do has the power of Elohim behind it. Our thoughts. Our words. And our actions. Unfortunately, few know who we really are and less understand how our kingdom functions. So the problem is that we keep living by the rules of the other kingdom; the kingdom of darkness. A foreign country and one we don’t belong in. Instead of stepping out into the vast unformed universe of faith, as Elohim did, instead of creating the world we want through the power of unity, we use our thoughts and the words that proceed from our thoughts to produce division. Poverty. Wounds. Offense. “As your thoughts go so goes your life,” ~Joyce Meyer. Our thoughts are powerful. When applied to words, they are even more so. But when we put them together with the unity of another person made in the image of Elohim, our thoughts and words explode into reality. “Kingdom is the Rule and Rules of Christ.” ~Dr. Myles Munroe Which is why we need a King to rule over us. In the new kingdom, we die to the old way of thinking. Christ is given complete authority over our mind. Our words. Our actions. We allow Him to give us His thoughts; to renew our mind and to change our way of thinking. We come into agreement with the thoughts of Elohim. Thinking like Christ thinks is only the beginning of creating a brand new world. When put into action, we have the power to produce a world that Loves Life. A world that honors and respects all who are made in the image and likeness of the Creator. Not just the ones who know it. We have the power to create a world that blesses; a world that heals. We can give birth to a world that stirs hope and delivers joy. Our old master was the opposite of all that. Sin produced a mind that thinks like Self thinks; thoughts that can only give birth to death. When we come together in the power of agreement under the opinions and words of our old master, we produce a world of hopelessness and failure; a world of disease. We create a world that lives by the constant manipulation of other minds and the power of regret. We are made in God’s image. Like the universe He spoke into existence, this Word is also fixed and settled. Psalm 119:89, “Forever, O LORD, Your word is settled in heaven.” (NASB) Like our Creator, Elohim, whenever two or three of us come together in agreement, when we unify around a thought, an idea, or a concept, when we give that thought expression through words, then our thoughts become motion where they give birth. Proverbs 18:21, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” (NASB) What we think we visualize. What we visualize we speak. We are spirits that live in a body. Like the Holy Spirit, we brood; we hover over our thoughts and over our words and what we brood over eventually becomes reality. In a kingdom that cannot be seen with physical eyes, our spirit has power and influence. We are, after all, the princes and princesses of the realm. However, the spirits that rule the world we cannot see; see us and they know who we are. If we ever discover that we are Elohim’s children, they will be forced to yield to our authority. Interesting, since we are so often controlled by them rather than the other way around. My firstborn was very independent. At the age of 18, she began to make her own way around the city of Houston. My prayers followed her, but I was unable to physically offer protection. One day, she was alone downtown when an older, homeless man approached her. He had matted hair, filthy clothing and saliva dribbled down his tangled beard as he muttered curses under his breath. Grabbing her by the hair, he began to pull her face toward his murmuring, “Murder. Kill.” It was 5:00 and office hours had just ended. Crowds passed them, but no one came to her rescue. Suddenly, she remembered who she was. Terrified, she stammered, “In the name of Jesus, let me go!” His body shook, he loosened his grip and stumbled backward. It was only a second. Emboldened by her fear, he strengthened his hold, pulled her toward him more forcefully and amplified his garbled message of torment. She responded again, but with courage, “In the name of Jesus Christ! Let me go!” He shuddered. A surprised look came over his face as he released the fist clenched around her hair and wandered off down the street still muttering his curses. As long as we don’t know who we are. As long as we only see what is around us. We will use the power of two becoming one to give birth to Satan’s agenda; an agenda of division. An agenda of confusion. An agenda of offense and betrayal. An agenda of hatred and bitterness. An agenda that ends in death. The rulers of darkness tremble when a son or daughter begins to see, but they quake whenever those who see come together. The power of two becoming one is the power of birth. As when a man and a woman come together in marriage; our thoughts are sperm looking for an egg to impregnate. Our words infuse the thought into our spirit and the birthright of our Father, the power of two becoming one, creates the energy to give birth. The question is, what are we giving birth to?
