About CatheyCathey McCrary was born and raised in Houston, Texas. Her introduction to ministry began at the age of 12 years old under the guidance and training of her mother, a minister’s wife, Bible teacher, and outstanding mentor of children. Through Cathey’s teen years she continued her mother’s legacy by ministering in such settings as Children’s Church, Christian camps, and home Bible clubs. For more than 2 decades she sang with her mother, sisters, and brother as they ministered through music to churches and missions.
Along with church performances, recording, and travel, Cathey has also had experience in local radio and television programs. Together with her husband, she spent 10 years pastoring and teaching young people, while also writing and directing dramatic presentations. One of her greatest passions is to write and direct original productions for the entire church and she has been blessed to serve in that capacity as well. From a focus on children and youth, she moved into service as Women's Worship Leader for several years. It was there that she developed a love for ministry to women of all ages. While he was alive, she and her husband faithfully conducted Home Bible Studies, prayer meetings, and Connection groups in their house and often saw the presence of God come in a powerful and practical way to heal the hearts of His people. In 1990 she wrote, directed, and produced an original, pro-life video titled, “Who Will Cry For Me? A Song For David.” Following her husband's death on September 18, 2005, Cathey asked the Lord to multiply the oil in her house like the Widow at Zarephath and the Widow's Oil in 2 Kings 4. She asked him to allow her to pour it out as a blessing to others through writing and public speaking. She enjoys using the gifts of speaking, writing, and dramatic presentation in order to inspire believers of all ages. Cathey’s greatest desire is to use the talents God has given her to help others find the “treasures of darkness” and “hidden riches of secret places” that God has promised to all those who love Him. |
